RT Knits, a well-known textile company, believes in the famous quote ‘Health is Wealth’. For this reason, the company organised a Health and Safety week for their staff in April. APSA was hence invited to do a talk on ‘Diabetes and Cardiovascular Diseases’ on 26th April at their head office in La Tour Koenig. The main objective was to create awareness to enable the staff to take better care of their health and that of their families.
Around 100 persons were present for this event. Our Head of Education and Prevention, Mrs Kamla Pandoo, together with the nutritionist, Aroushinee Goorapah, tackled various aspects of the diseases but also, touched on other issues such as; stress, fast food and the importance of a balanced diet. The session ended with a time for questions and answers wherein many staff members actively participated and raised a number of interesting questions.
Over a number of years, our dedicated team composed of consultants, nurses and educators have delivered talks on Diabetes and Cardiovascular diseases and have also provided screening sessions to corporates.
